The Impact Engine has been labeled, by EA Canadas lead gameplay designer Aaron McHardy, as the biggest change to the Fifa series since FIFA 07 when the engine was re-built for the next generation consoles.

The impact engine throws away the canned animations and uses physics and body positioning and movement to determine action and injury.

McHardy said "It solves a lot of problems for us this year, it gives us better accuracy, better momentum, more realistic outcomes, solving a lot of situations that we tried just not to get into before.

The Impact Engine was first seen in action in the leaked video which showed all of the new features of the game.
